When You Need Extra Support
Frequently asked questions
Pricing is based on your organization's size, transaction volume, and complexity—not arbitrary markups. A small nonprofit with straightforward fund accounting will pay less than a larger organization managing multiple grants and restricted funds. We'll review your chart of accounts, donor restrictions, and reporting requirements during our initial conversation to give you an accurate quote. No surprises.
Monthly bookkeeping includes transaction recording, bank reconciliation, fund accounting entries, and monthly financial statements. Form 990 preparation, annual audit support, and major system implementations are separate engagements. We'll be clear upfront about what's in scope and what isn't—you'll never get an unexpected bill for "extra work" that should have been included.
Yes. We regularly help nonprofits clean up backlogged transactions, reclassify misposted entries, and fix fund accounting errors. We'll assess where things stand, give you a flat-fee quote for remediation work, and then move you into ongoing monthly support. Getting caught up is a one-time project—staying current is much more affordable.
No. We work with nonprofits using QuickBooks, other accounting systems, or our own platform. That said, if you're using disconnected tools and struggling with data gaps, we'll tell you—and Unity might be the right long-term answer. But services and software are separate decisions. We'll support whichever path makes sense for your organization.
We need your full-year financials, donor records, and program information by mid-February to file comfortably before the May 15 deadline (or applicable extension). If your books aren't closed by year-end, we can help with that too. The earlier we start, the less stressful it is for everyone—and the better quality the filing will be.
